Day 2 of the 24 Day Challenge

Yesterday wasn't so bad! In my head I built it up as something awful (not eating, running to the bathroom every 5 minutes) that is not what happened at all. The hardest part for me was drinking the fiber drink in the morning (not a fan).

For my mid morning snack I made a Spark Smoothie. It was a treat, a little taste of sweet made it a lot easier to get me through the day. I used mango - strawberry spark, 1/2 cup fresh strawberries, and one cup of ice. Blend on high. YUMMMM!!!

What can I eat beside salad?

I am starting the 10 Day cleanse tomorrow.  I am so excited to get started but I am already tired of salad so I came up with a few ideas to help me get through this next 10 days.

Tired of boring salads but not sure what to eat? Whether you’re on the cleanse or max phase, It takes planning and a little creativity to come up with some tasty food options. Here are some non- salad ideas for you.
  • Unsalted pistachios, almonds, sunflower seeds, etc with a little fruit on the side (if you have trouble digesting almonds try soaking them).
  • Plain oatmeal with fresh fruit mixed in (try adding a spark pack for a tasty alternative).
  • Ground chicken, veggie burger, or lean pork sliders on a 100% whole wheat bun, or  wrapped in lettuce.
  • Stir fry with brown rice
  • Hard boiled eggs are the perfect go to snack or a quick meal keep them on hand.
  • Canned tuna mixed with different ingredients such as onions, tomatoes, shredded carrots, Just Experiment!
  • Make guacamole with fresh ingredients (tomatoes, jalapenos, lemon juice, onions) and eat with shrimp or vegetables
  • Baked fish with lemon
  • Kabobs on the grill… Chicken and shrimp with your favorite veggies
  • Try grilled peaches or pineapple
  • Instead of a green salad with lettuce and greens, I roast up chunks of veggies, a lean protein (such as chicken or shrimp) add a little olive oil, garlic, and pepper.
  • I hope this gives you some tasty ideas and helps you get away from the traditional boring salad
Try our Nutrition Bars they are a big help when you are in a hurry and don't what you should eat.

Roasted Vegetables

A Healthy Non Salad Alternative:
Roasting veggies is super easy. Chop up your choice of veggies into similar sized pieces (I like zucchini, red onion chunks, carrots, and garlic). Drizzle 1 tsp of olive oil on them and toss to coat. Add fresh ground black pepper and your favorite herb seasonings. (one way to get more flavor without adding salt is to add herbs such as oregano, rosemary, thyme, or sage).
Roast for 30 - 45mins (depending on the size and type of vegetables) on 400 degrees top rack oven.

IS THIS YOU?

Someone who has trouble waking up or feels "energy slumps" throughout the day?

Someone who can’t work up enough energy to live life the way you want?

Someone who is looking for a more nutritious alternative to coffee, soda or other energy drinks?

THE ISSUE:

In today’s fast-paced environment, it doesn’t take much to cause your body and your mind to simply run out of steam. When you’re low on energy, usually every facet of your life suffers to some degree. Low-energy levels are often precursors to poor weight management, increased mental and physical stress, and much more. Most of us don’t eat like we should or exercise enough – many times because we are too tired at the end of the day to dedicate 30 minutes or more to exercise. Furthermore, we often look to popular choices like soda and coffee drinks as a quick source of energy, though they are often high in sugar and calories. And even though they might provide the quick bolt of energy we’re looking for, it disappears just as quickly, usually lasting no more than 30 minutes. Experience shows that when you increase your energy, you’re often more likely to improve your overall health. For peak performance and vibrant health, we need sustained and focused energy. Poor diets, lack of physical activity and the demands of our everyday lifestyle can drain our energy, promote weight gain and lead to a variety of negative physical conditions. What we need is an energy drink that is quick to respond, long lasting, and not full of sugar and calories.

THE SOLUTION: AdvoCare Spark

AdvoCare Spark Energy Drink is a unique multi-nutrient system that was developed as a nutritional source of energy and enhanced mental focus.* It’s a sugar-free drink mix that has more than 20 vitamins, minerals and nutrients that work synergistically to provide a healthy, balanced and effective source of energy that won’t overburden or overstimulate your body like other energy drinks on the market.* This amazing product serves as an all-in-one solution that gives you a quick boost of energy that lasts for hours.* With three refreshing flavors (Watermelon, Tangerine and Fruit Punch)
